Seena Donneson Exhibition

The National Arts Club

poster for Seena Donneson Exhibition

This event has ended.

This is an exhibit of bronze and handmade paper sculpture by Seena Donneson. This will be Donneson’s first solo show at the National Arts Club.
Inspired by what she calls “fragments lost in time,” Donneson’s abstract sculptures evoke a raw primitivism reminiscent of ancient cultures. The gnarled forms and textured surfaces recall a visual language of the past, and yet, convey the energy of the present. Donneson explores the notion of rebirth and decay in today’s fast-paced society, and this duality is brought to life by her use of materials. Donneson begins with handmade paper structures, which she then brings to the Modern Art Foundry to be cast in bronze. An exciting tension is created by the juxtaposition of these two
mediums—embodying both a fragility and strength at once.
