This event has ended.

In ancient Greece the Dithyramb was an ancient hymn sung in honor of the god Dionysus. They were poetic and ecstatic in nature and were known to have been sung by the choruses at Delos. Thodos' paintings and prints transform the Dithyramb into abstract expressionist songs in paint and line. The images burst with passion and energy, flowing with a dynamism that sometimes refers to forces of nature like spring or mythological creatures like the bull and the dragon. Nature and the subconscious combine into abstract songs that are a modern homage to the ancient spirit. The rhythmic overlay of patterned shapes and the melody of colors interlock in compositional sweeps that play between tension and harmony.
