"Luminous Modernism" comprising some 50 paintings by leading Scandinavian artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries-- including Edvard Munch, Vihelm Hammersøi, and Anders Zion-- revisiting a groundbreaking exhibition sponsored by The American-Scandinavian Foundation in 1912, which even before the Armory Show of 1913, introduced European modernism to North America.
