Robert M. Kulicke (1924 – 2007): painter, draughtsman, printmaker, frame designer, frame maker, potter, goldsmith, historian, collector, and teacher.
The show is composed of paintings, drawings and etchings. Included the group are still lifes of fruit, flowers and a dollar bill, the last an exceedingly rare subject for which KULICKE is famous. Also, in the exhibition will be a cloisonné jewel of a pear. KULICKE is renowned for his contributions to the field of historic and contemporary frame making, and many of the works in this exhibition were framed by the artist himself.
Born in Philadelphia in 1924, KULICKE attended the Tyler School of Art (Temple University) and the Philadelphia Museum School. In 1949, he studied in Paris with Fernand Léger. He died in 2007. Davis & Langdale Company has exclusively represented the work of KULICKE since 1974 and continues to represent the estate of the artist.
