WHITE BOX PROJECTS presents John Zieman's "Time Suite" - a series of 3 high definition video art works created from 2007-2010. Never shown together before, these 3 works pose a unique mode of inquiry. John Zieman explores the collision of two contemporary strategies; dynamic moving portraiture, and word art. His subjects, (ranging in age from 7 -60), might at first seem captured with authenticity, framed in light and shadow. This simple image becomes infiltrated with a complication of meanings, as he literally projects animated texts upon the bodies of his subjects, and records the composite image as as sort of "layered portrait".
