Raandesk Gallery presents an exhibition of painting and mixed media works by Jihay Kang, iconic images are associated with Western material culture that explore intersections of consumerism and authenticity. Brightly patterned and complexly layered works explode with color and reveal converging themes of happiness, joy and alienation. Select works incorporate three overlapping circles that depict both Mickey Mouse and the holy trinity; parallels are drawn between Disney and Kang's Christian upbringing.
