Milhone Tosta "Abstract Notebook Sketches"
Site&Images Chelsea
This event has ended.
Milhone Tosta shows drawings that span six years. His work depicts a form of meditation.
It is Milhone's goal to, "convey volumes with few strokes or a singular idea with countless strokes."
Milhone Tosta was born in Caracas, Venezuela, has spent most of his life in New York City and is a graduate of Parsons School of Design, NYC.
He has drawn and painted since childhood. He attended the High School of Art & Design in midtown Manhattan. Between his 1st and 2nd semester in Parsons School of Design, there was a stint in The US Navy. After his enlistment, he went back to Parsons to major in Illustration.
He is interested in a minimalist approach, and feels a close relationship with Zen art in general. In contrast he is also influenced by the Pre-Rafaelites, and sees the incredible amount of detail in their painting as "organic", and therefore related.
