Janet Malcolm "Photographs: Burdock"

The exhibition consists of 25 recent photographs of burdock leaves. The burdock is a rank weed that grows along roadsides
and derelict buildings. Malcom has extracted them from this, their natural environment, and transplanted them to small glass vases in her attic studio where she photographs them contrasted against a stark white wall. She selects leaves that have been
victims of decay, insects and blight.
