Metallika brings together the work of 18 artists. The exhibition investigates the use of metallics as a reflective surface and as a metaphor for resembling metal. Gold, silver, faux metallics, and mirrors… I find it interesting that these reflective objects are both endearing and eye catching yet can be repulsive and tacky. It really depends how it’s presented. Through the use of the reflective media the artist is able to activate ideas of mirroring - light, sound or imagery can be reflected. With this in mind, each artist created a specific work for the space. The gallery will be transformed into a brilliant lustrous haunt.
