Press preview for Scandal Sandals and Lady Slippers: A History of Delman Shoes. To celebrate Delman’s 90th anniversary, graduate students at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) present the first exhibition devoted to this elegant footwear. Fifty dazzling Delman styles will be on view, including those worn by royalty and celebrities.

Copies of the shoes worn by Queen Elizabeth to her 1953 coronation and Delman’s 2000 reinterpretation
Golden evening sandals, circa 1958, designed after Irene Castle’s “Scandal Sandal” dancing shoes
Multicolored blue and purple floral booties from the 1950s, with an unusual turn-back throat
