This event has ended.

The title of the show, Warped Tour, is a tongue in cheek reference to the Vans Warped Tour, the touring music and extreme sports festival. Aptly named, the exhibition features two large-scale collages, which resemble abstract maps with bright bands of color intersecting throughout. The collage surfaces undulate under the weight of the various layers of clippings, glue, and paint, becoming "warped" in the process. The bright bands of the collages were inspired by the etched pathways of a circuit board, and the veritable tour of electricity is played out in the 22 drawings that punctuate the show.

This frenetic and youthful energy is further relayed in a suite of drawings, which feature a myriad of characters culled from various facets of the media and everyday life, including the cover of the soundtrack of the Muppet Show; the book Borders, Frames, and Decorative Motifs from the 1862 Derriey Topographic Catalogue; early 90s hip-hop album covers; an anatomical text book, and the Bob Hope airport. Inspired by influences as varied as Hieronymus Bosch and Where's Waldo children's books, Lowe incorporates their attention to detail into his own unique narratives.

Born in 1980 in San Jose, California, Nick Lowe lives and works in Palo Alto. Solo exhibitions include Black Dragon Society, Los Angeles; John Connelly Presents, New York; Me.di.um, St. Barthelemy; and The General Store, Milwaukee. Group exhibitions include Cottage Home, Los Angeles; BFAS Blondeau Fine Art Services, Geneva; Peres Projects, Berlin; Deitch Projects, New York; Apex Art, New York; Jack Hanley Gallery, San Francisco; and UCLA Armand Hammer Museum, Los Angeles.
