Kristofer Porter and Christopher Davison "Tall Tales"

Fred Torres Collaborations

This event has ended.

The artists have influenced each others practice and imagery throughout their 12 year friendship, oftentimes using similar iconography or techniques. Both artists also create psychologically compelling narratives through their figurative relationships. There is a sense of vulnerability, anxiety, sexual tension and play that reoccur in each artists works--yet the final results are unique to each artist.

Tall Tales will also premiere the series "Call and Response"--a visual conversation between the two artists updated every 24 hours: http://responsedrawings.blogspot.com/

Porter lives and works in Brooklyn. Although he has been quietly making drawings for over 10 years, this is the first time his work will be publicly exhibited.

Davison is a Philadelphia based artist currently teaching printmaking and drawing at Tyler School of Art. He has exhibited throughout the United State and Europe, and had his first solo exhibition at Nicelle Beauchene Gallery in New York in 2009. This is the first time that Davison will be exhibiting at Fred Torres Collaborations.
