Children’s Museum of the Arts strives to validate the work of children as one of the purest and truest of art forms. We work to fulfill this mission by preserving artwork created by New York City children and children around the world as an important artistic reference to history, culture, environment and social structure.
CMA maintains a collection of over 2,000 pieces of art made by young people dating back to the 1930’s, and from over 50 different countries. We display selections from this collection and also mount special exhibitions of children’s artwork and artwork by adults that is oriented toward children.
