PaulaBarr chelsea presents the August Group Show, featuring the work of five artists: Mike Lindwasser, Pablo Sue-Pat, Josue Romero, Cory Sellers, and Rachel Wilkins.

Mike Lindwasser's photographs use a combination of extreme angles and long exposures to create a unique genre of photography. His lengthy exposures imbue his photographs with the vibrant colors of the daytime despite the fact that they were shot in the middle of the night. His work emphasizes geometry and brings the ordinary into the abstract.

Pablo Sue-Pat was born in Kingston, Jamaica to Jewish and Jamaican parents. He attended Edna Manley College Of Art in Kingston, and went on to study art history at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. His art is the result of continuous experimentation, exposure to the modern art movements, such as Nouveau Realisme, L' Art Informal, Pop Art and extensive reading and traveling.

Josué Romero was born in Venezuela in 1987. Even though he was reared in a business oriented family, Josué always showed great passion for art. As a young boy, he used his mother's makeup and creams from her bathroom to paint his canvas (the walls of the house). He painted and drew all day long. Around 14 years of age, Josué became more serious about his paintings. Using oils, he painted abstract canvases, which he sold knocking door to door after school.

Cory Sellers is first concerned with compositional facts. while working on a painting. His thoughts are never ending and when working he creates rhythm and movement. It is his reaction to the complexity of the ever-changing world similar to the sense of movement man takes through out life.

Rachel Wilkins is originally from Liverpool, UK and now resides in New York City. Rachel's diverse craft and unique style is displayed throughout all of her pieces, she works primarily with acrylics and granular gels and produces her works onto large canvas. She chooses an unconventional method when producing her work by placing the canvas flat on the floor and applying the paint and materials from various angles, often moving the canvas throughout the process creating a unique energy and sensuality in each piece.
