"Frozen and Filtered" will feature Ms. Feliciano Solomon's ethereal organza sculptures, mirrored wall pieces, and enamel paintings. The organza constructions, which are the centerpiece of the exhibition, integrate mathematical principles and artistic insight. These delicate wonders, designed to collapse into small packages, create an atmosphere of calm and tranquility by capturing and diffusing light, and appear to defy gravity. All of her work is inspired by natural elements and fleeting events, such as sunlight breaking through clouds, fog rolling over hills and reflections on water, but fabricated using man-made materials and computer-aided design. Sonjie isolates and simulates natural phenomena and recreates the universal feeling of wonder on a very basic level.
