This event has ended.

German-American conceptual artist Regina Baumhauer will show mixed media works on paper and canvas at the Phyllis Lucas Gallery/Old Print Center on East 60th Street in Manhattan October 21 to December 21, 2010. Selected works from Baumhauer’s Open Letter and her Diary series will be on display.

Baumhauer is noted for her engagement of themes related to the socially transformative effects of postmodern technologies portrayed in Klee-like compositions that are both playful and penetrating. Her work explores a wide range of techniques, materials and mediums often combining painting, drawing and printmaking in a single piece.

Baumhauer began her formal education with an emphasis on printmaking at Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, Germany. She continued her art studies at Boston University and later was a resident at the renowned art colony Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY 2005. Today, she lives and has her studio in downtown Manhattan.

Since the mid-1980s, Baumhauer’s work has been shown in museums and galleries in Germany and the United States.
