Beginning in 2004, CMA’s Media Lab has fused the art of storytelling with technical stop-motion animation instruction. In classes taught by professional artists children learned to write, storyboard, design, animate, edit, and score their own narrative Claymation films. The exhibition Five Years of Film chronicles the filmography of CMA’s Media Lab through its clay characters and film sets, from the first opera-singing Jell-O mold to the most recent Pizza God.
