This event has ended.

In "rites and dust" McKean debuts a series of sculptures and flat work that continue his investigation of poetics, narrative structures, objects and meaning. Themes of rites of passage, time and representations of the natural world populate the new work. As the exhibition title alludes, the work includes: a series of sculpted plants, a piece of petrified wood, a braided hair sculpture, a sexually suggestive figurative tableau with characters from an 80’s sitcom, and 90’s Sony Minidisc recorder, a sculpture of a broken arm, a conch shell, a meteorite, a beard sculpture and an image of a disappearing magician.
