BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn presents INvent/Onsite: The 22nd Annual BRIC Contemporary Art Education Exhibition of student artwork. The exhibition is curated by Hawley Hussey, BRIC’s Director of Contemporary Art Education. Artwork by students from 11 Brooklyn Public Schools is represented, featuring site-specific installations by student groups.

INvent/ONsite features artwork made by Brooklyn public school students participating in BRIC’s in-school contemporary art residency program. Through the program, professional artist teachers partner with classroom teachers to design educational residencies in math, English Language Arts, social studies, science, and other academic areas that meet the needs of each classroom. Each residency furthers curricular goals and teaches contemporary art ideas by using professional art-making materials. Artwork made by students in 2009-10 academic year is included in INvent/ONsite.

The Brooklyn public schools in the 2010 exhibition include: PS 119, The Magnet School for Global and Ethical Studies; MS 136; PS 48, Mapleton School; Green School; Middle School for Art and Philosophy; PS 503, The School of Discovery; Juan Morel Campos Secondary School; PS 192, The School for Math and Science Inquiry; PS 8; and the Dr. Susan S.
