Dan Quintana is a name many of us know in the contemporary surrealist community. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dan maintains a certain street aesthetic in virtually all of his pieces. Nonetheless, the influences of the historically respected masters are prominent. There is a wonderfully daring component to Dan Quintana's work, stylistically blending the politics of the LA streets with the richness of old techniques. Each oil painting is truly confrontational, a certain spiritual materialism, from inception to the final stages of framing. This same fearlessness has allowed Quintana to establish himself in modern media as well. His artistry is found on custom-car tv shows, MTV's "Pimp My Ride" and TLC's "Street Customs."
