"Fractured" Exhibition
Trestle Gallery (at Brooklyn Art Space)
This event has ended.
Fractured is a mixed media exhibition featuring nine diverse New York City artists whose work investigates various forms of breaking down or fracturing. This show demonstrates the distinct correlation between art and language. Before language, ancient man used symbols or pictograms to communicate with one another. A dialogue with images is seen through these nine artists; telling tales of pain, broken hearts, or even a fractured society. Each artist's interpretation of the word is captured in these visually stunning images. The artists Gedi, HS, Kristen Klosinski, Mario Galeano, Max Gaines, Johnny Mattei, Renata Marallo, Alejandro Cerdena and Paul Seftel all use their unique styles to express their vision of the process of breaking down, cracking or rupturing. The wear and tear of everyday life on a soul may cause unseen cracks or breaks on the human spirit over a lifetime. This exhibition intends to expose the various ways in which people feel torn apart and broken throughout each artist's own life experiences.
This is a mixed media show curated by Johhny Mattei.
