This event has ended.

With an extraordinary wit and method, the Florentine duo Pieralli)(Favi, introduce staggering surfaces that combine painting, sculpture and installation. Made of acrylic, adhesives, nails and wood, the works are characterized by the enticing interplay of enigmatic forms and real space. Vibrant explosions and spewing remnants of energy-charged elements float and expand into the gallery's white wall. Hard-edged structures, interconnecting lines, and galaxy-like forms- reminiscent of a supernova explosion- expand and appear to be in action, expressing the artists' interest in the notion of transformation and change. The outbursts and cracks apparent in the compositions read as metaphors for breaking the mold, freeing your inner-self and moving forward. Although the forces of nature seek to push outward, Pieralli)(Favi are convinced that in reality all things are infinitely interconnected. This conception is manifested, for instance, in "Return" 2009, where a network of lines directs the passage from one place to another, thus proving that the universe is ultimately a seamless web. And even though we are constantly in the quest for something different, in many instances the forces of nature conspire to make us return from our journey to former, familiar places.
