The gallery opens the solo show “The Matvey Basov Experience”. This very seasoned and well known artist is gracing our galleries with pieces of history from his collection. The art works depict a time of heartache from the holocaust, to the well grounded belief of their religion, and then take us to the newfound hope of family and the rebirth of a race almost made extinct. Matvey’s technique shows a dimensional view through the impasto technique which he has mastered through years of experience, and which he teaches to children in Belarus, free of charge. It is inspirational to view the tranquility and illuminating hope that radiates through his art and is no wonder that Dodge and Rothschild, are amongst many collectors of his work. We have the privilege to be part of history in the making by offering a few of his collections to the public at attainable values.
