This event has ended.

Without a doubt, the magazine that best defined the ultimate in photo-reportage during the twentieth century was LIFE. Launched by Henry Luce in 1936 as the nation's first all-photographic news magazine, it was published weekly until 1972, with intermittent special issues until 1978, and monthly from 1978 to 2000. LIFEdominated its market for more than forty years and at its height of circulation sold more than 13.5 million copies a week. Every issue was a photographic feast of images taken by America's most famous and favorite photojournalists. Whether it was the coverage of war, celebrities, entertainment or sports, the photographers of LIFE captured images that have remained icons to this day. While these images originally appeared on the pages of LIFE as integral parts of journalistic stories, this exhibition presents them as the free-standing classics that they, in fact, are. Leica is proud to exhibit a selection of these images from the following luminaries.
