This event has ended.

The paintings included in Killjoy explore diverse visual territory including cars, cakes, home entertainment centers and decorative figurines. While only some of the paintings depict iconography associated with the notion of bad luck, all of the paintings seem ominous. Executed in a vivid palette underscored by full spectrum shadows which often threaten to envelop the subject, Brouillette’s formal treatment of these objects removes them from their banal origins and imbues them with a seed of disquiet.
