This event has ended.

SK10 is the second iteration of an exhibition organized by the 2010 class, which took place in Skowhegan, Maine this summer. The first iteration of SK10, included works by nearly all the Skowhegan participants in addition to the school’s two deans Craig Drennen and Victoria Fu.
At Tompkins Projects, the 2010 Skowhegan participants will show an array of works that engage nearly every medium used in contemporary art practice. The works in the show are primarily modest in scale, but several exciting interventions, and the incredible caliber of work included, make this exhibition an outstanding kickoff to Tompkins Projects’ second season.
Each year Skowhegan curates a class of participants with an effort to bring together a varied group of individuals from an international pool. Ages and cultures are wide ranging, but there is a congruency amongst every year’s participants that allows for immense shared and personal growth. One thread that seems to run through this year’s class is a heightened level of craftsmanship and a particular inclination toward ontological discourses.
