"Art of the Crash: Art Created from the Detritus of Detroit" Exhibition
FusionArts Museum
This event has ended.
This year has seen the collapse of Wall Street turned into a full-blown global economic crisis, the less than enthusiastic interest in using “green technology” for business and personal economic growth and the “Cash for Clunkers” program which inexplicably trashed the “clunkers” rather than reselling them for scrap. 2009 has been the year of waste. Artists who work across multiple artistic genres such as painting and sculpture were asked to reference all of the above to produce art for this exhibit. Rather than waste the waste they have created timely contemporary art from the detritus of Detroit.
