This event has ended.

This exhibition considers the concept of ethical cohabitation – how to negotiate our differences within our shared environment. Cohabitation implies power relations in flux; relations that seem at first harmonious can in fact be antagonistic. In this context, how does one choose to act?

At The Kitchen, visitors are invited to experience or participate in projects and workshops by artists Rachel Berwick, Pablo Helguera, Alfredo Jaar, Tatsuo Miyajima, spurse, Apitchatpong Weerasethakul, and others. At various other sites, Undercurrents presents installations, performances, and activities by artists including Gina Badger, Amy Balkin, EcoArtTech, Lize Mogel, Andrea Polli, and Emily Roysdon.

Curated by Anik Fournier, Michelle Lim, Amanda Parmer, and Robert Wuilfe, Curatorial Fellows in The Whitney Museum Independent Study Program 2009-10
