Pavel Soubok Gallery presents an exhibition of paintings, collages and box constructions that transform iconic images culled from the history of art in unexpected ways – featuring works by the late Sarah G. Austin (1935-1991) and George Deem (1932-2008), and by contemporary artist Ginnie Gardiner. In Translation explores how these three artists actively embrace the canon of art history in a manner both playful and inventive, engaging in a process that conceptually and materially translates the lexicon of art.
