This event has ended.

Eyebeam is is pleased to announce this year's Girls Eye View program, which will feature a new collaboration with young women from Euphrasian Residence, a Good Shepherd Services' residential program. Youth participants will collaborate with artist and Eyebeam Alum Tali Hinkis (LoVid) in an eight-week program where they will draw on personal topics and themes they are exploring during their time spent at Euphraisan Residence, such as safety, emotions, loss, and future. Their work at Eyebeam will further help the youth integrate these concepts, derived from the Sanctuary Model, into their lives and relationships with themselves and their community.

This year's GEV program has been conceived of as an education initiative of ReGroup, Eyebeam's upcoming exhbition examining participatory models for creative practice. In the spirit of this exhibition, young women from Good Shepherd will work together to reimagine the classic PSA by creating animated GIFs made up of stylized text that will tell a story as it transforms. They will source creative input and share their ongoing work via online social networks, and via the exhibition at Eyebeam and a project web page, animations completed by the young women will become a platform for ongoing creative contributions.
