Ana Tzarev traveled widely throughout Asia, spending years in areas far outside the common tourist destinations to obtain firsthand knowledge of each region's cultural history. Captured in this remarkable series of works based on the legends of Asia, her paintings and sculpture reflect her extensive knowledge of the historical, spiritual and mystical influences on the arts in this area of the world.
"I have a deep respect for the great cultural history of Asian nations and I have spent many wonderful hours in theatres, museums and libraries and well as the homes of people throughout the region researching the artistry and influence of these traditions. With the rise of popular culture I became concerned that interest in historical traditions was waning and I felt it was important to document them for future generations."
