Warren layers clear acrylic medium onto canvas, manipulating angled incisions into the acrylic to form geometric patterns. The cuts are filled with paint, the surface sanded smooth to remove extra paint except in the cuts. Using this technique Warren plays with illusion, composing line into three-dimensional configurations that appear to float, and move on a two-dimensional plane. Warm golden rust on a contrasting rich dark ground becomes a foil for this expressive work.
