His first New York show in twenty years, Donald Shambroom’s flowers offer shades of seduction while each variety, be it poppy or pressed red rose, connects to a momento mori of some kind. Adding sculptural elements of memorial and aggression, Shambroom marries the anthropomorphic with the botanical to arrive at something new. His paintings are in the permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Fine Art in Boston, among others.
