Japanese Artist Association's Annual Exhibition

Tenri Cultural Institute

This event has ended.

The Japanese Artists Association of New York, Inc. (JAA) was established 36 years ago in 1973 to be a group to support Japanese and Japanese-American artists, with the added intent of providing a connection between the art worlds of the United States and Japan. The goal is to create a better community through art.

Throughout these 36 years, JAA has been the base for Japanese visual artists. JAA acted as a catalyst for artists in the greater New York metropolitan area. One of the main activities is the annual JAA show, which has been favorably received for the last three decades. JAA also host seminars on various topics during which guest speakers are invited to conduct lectures about different aspects of the arts. Through activities, JAA increases knowledge and understanding of visual arts and artists across cultures.

As an artist organization, JAA believes that art is the best means to nurture the two cultures. Combining a rich Japanese heritage and that of the new homeland will help us realize a better society through the efforts of JAA.
