This event has ended.

Nash's sculptures are imperfect, fragile, somewhat doomed, and yet completely recognizable representations of products from America's industrialized economy. Each handcrafted artwork, cast in plastic, resin and foam, is a little piece of Nash's collected memory: a twisted truck axel, a bike, a skateboard, Kurt Cobain's iconic baby blue Fender Jaguar, and other material and psychic detritus from Nash's daily existence. By attempting to remake these objects from just his memory, Nash ensures the creation of new, completely unique versions. In the artist's own words, "The end result is a three-dimensional static animation frozen in time." The result is an artwork that pops out of reality a slight bit, with a quiet, innocent, and unexpected wit. Nash's drawings and videos explore the same terrain traversed by his sculptures, but in completely separate formal modes. Nash's drawings are poetic and cryptic, depicting accumulations of objects similar to his sculptures, again manifested completely from memory. His video work acts out the humorous and experimental situations made possible by the versimilitude and material composition of his sculptures.
