This event has ended.

92YTribeca partners with Like the Spice Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Artist-Led Initiatives Support Network, London (ALISN) to present Off the Clock. This special group exhibition, co-curated by Like the Spice and ALISN and is made up entirely of artist's assistants.

Throughout history, artists have rarely worked alone; assistants date back at least to the apprentice system in the Middle Ages. The benefits are mutual: up-and-coming artists learn important secrets of the trade, while their seasoned employers reap the many rewards of an extra set of hands. The glory, however, often still goes to the artist whose name is on the work. The public will rarely ever know the assistants by name.

All of the artists featured in this show have learned through doing; lending their talents to works that can now be seen in major galleries, important private collections and public spaces throughout the world.

This Exhibition will feature work by: Rachel Beach (Roxy Paine), Matt Blackler (Gordon Cheung), Jason Bryant (Kehinde Wiley), Ben Deakin (Keith Tyson), Allison Edge (Mcdermott and Mcgough), Rob van Erve (Judy Pfaff), Alison Gill (Gavin Turk), Charlie Ledbetter (Jeff Koons), Jenny Morgan (Marilyn Minter), Reuben Negron (Papo Colo), Lauren Page Russell (Spencer Tunick), Lucas Blalock (Vik Muniz).
