This event has ended.

AES Gallery presents collages and drawings by Patricia Bradshaw. Born in the Bronx, New York, Patricia’s mother strongly encouraged her to be creative at an early age. As a child, Patricia tried dance, theater, and music but art is what she truly desired to pursue. Her interests turned to collecting eye-catching headlines, old family photo images, magazines, greeting cards, and newspapers.

By the summer of 1997, Jazz music became her passion, especially the Jazz legend, Billie Holiday. Consumed, she read everything she could regarding the woman affectionately called “Lady Day.” The fruits of these studies jettisoned Patricia into an odyssey of self-discovery. Drawing Holiday from old photos in books and posters, Patricia felt her visionary world awaken. She started drawing portraits and making collages - by focusing on the facial expressions of others, Patricia reclaimed her third-eye.
