This event has ended.

In the project room, Billy Sullivan has invited seven artists to present work in a group exhibition.

The diverse range of photographs on view in Seven create a dialogue against Sullivan’s own relentless documentary practice. Here, seven young photographers engage with the lens, operating both
as observer and participant. All the works play off our expectations, investigating cultural assumptions while offering glimpses of private worlds. But none follow a prescibed path: some
are voyeuristic; some record the trace of human activity in a kitchen or bedroom; others are deliberately composed studies. Emotion-driven works such as Patricia Coffie’s reveal an unsettling experience of looking while Dustin Wayne Harris’ narrative approaches the figure and its traces. Each artist investigates the photograph’s potential to contain a unique experience.
