Carin Johnson will be showcasing her new works on paper. Carin focuses on awkwardness in relationships, situations, and between individuals, and aims for the outcome to not be expressly literal. Johnson uses anything that comes to her head in order to twist what she sees from day-to-day towards the surreal.Carin then take aspects of things she finds interesting at a certain moment and try to combine them into an image that is both interesting and carries a clouded idea or feeling one cannot pinpoint–in hopes of stirring up an idea or any kind of transport of the imagination to another plane of thought.
Carin Jonson is a Maryland native who graduated from the Rhode Island School Of Design in 2005, with a B.F.A. in Illustration. She currently resides in Queens, New York.
