Mike Lash "Consumption"

Lyons Wier Gallery

poster for Mike Lash "Consumption"

This event has ended.

"Consumption” is a conceptual exhibition whereby the artist takes an ironic poke at the current state of affairs borne by the rabid consumerism of an unchecked society and the sobering effect it is having in the art world and the world at large.

A sheet-cake designed and based on a Mike Lash drawing will be made each day and served with a plastic fork. However to commemorate the opening event, a ‘Special Limited Edition’ Christofle ™ silver fork, signed and numbered, will be the keystone piece of “Consumption” and is being offered for sale NOW at the “friends and family” pre-opening price of $100. The forks will retail at $185 when the show opens July 6th.

Five (5) Mike Lash paintings will also be sold ‘Silent Auction style’ with each of the 3 x 4 foot paintings starting at the low price of a bottle of Scotch (Lash is hoping for Scotch at the $40 -$50 dollar range!). The works can be viewed now at www.lyonswiergallery.com. All silent auction pieces will be up during the 5 day exhibit and closes at 7:30pm on Friday, July 10.
