The work in "Urban Biotic" is a reflection of the biological manifesting itself within industrial urban environments. Deborah Brown’s oil paintings harmoniously depict natures presence in the urban jungle of Brooklyn. Jon Elliott offers “skeptical paintings, depicting mounds of old and obsolete computers and televisions” wherein we find only subtle hints of natural forms emerging from the obliterated earth. In Hyungsub Shin’s sculptural work, we witness a transformative organic force re-asserting itself over the most mundane of industrial materials, such as janitorial mops and electrical wires.
