Experience the first US museum presentation of the complete five-part cinematic masterpiece by Shanghai-based artist Yang Fudong. While referencing the Seven Sages, a popular subject in traditional East Asian art, the artist imbues an avant-garde, film noir aesthetic and modern existential thought into this mesmerizing black-and-white film. Co-curated by Melissa Chiu, Museum Director and Vice President, Global Visual Art Programs, and Miwako Tezuka, Associate Curator, Asia Society.
