Mad. Sq. Art presents Madison Square Trapezoids, with Performances by The Vigilant Groundsman, a video installation and performance art project by Bill Beirne. Beirne, in his role as The Vigilant Groundsman, turns the everyday acts of horticultural maintenance and wildlife documentation into aesthetic actions by performing absurdist variations of these daily routines. Known for incorporating surveillance video into his public performances, Beirne’s actions as The Vigilant Groundsman are recorded by surveillance cameras and transmitted live to the monitors in the Mad. Sq. Art video room.
