"Cinema 16" Film Screening
Smack Mellon
This event has ended.
Named after the New York-based avant-garde film society in 1947 and inspired by Maya Deren's Greenwich Village exhibition of experimental films, Cinema 16 pairs edgy contemporary musical artists with vintage films; curated by Molly Surno and produced by Greg Eggebeen. For over a year now, Cinema 16 has lovingly programmed these semi-monthly screenings and performances, melding the worlds of art, film and music.
For this installment of Cinema 16, Nick Yulman & the Bone Conductor Mechanical score three films: Georges Méliès magical short L'homme orchestre (One Man Band), Charles Bowers’s long lost comical romp A Wild Roomer, and Maya Deren’s surrealist masterpiece Meshes of the Afternoon.
