"Create, Present, Preserve" Panel

The Drawing Center

This event has ended.

Create, Present, Preserve brings together a panel of experts in the areas of conservation, framing, and art handling to discuss the best methods for creating, presenting, storing, and transporting artwork as well as common mistakes to avoid. Following a short discussion moderated by Viewing Program staff Nina Katchadourian and Rachel Liebowitz, panelists will answer audience questions.

About the Panelists:

Johanna Hoffman is the Chief Conservator at Contemporary Conservation. Hoffman's clients include top museums, galleries, and artists who seek her expertise in the preservation and conservation of contemporary art. Additionally, Hoffman provides guidance to museums and private collections on devaluation after damage and consultation on preservation issues.

Donald Delli Paoli is the Co-Owner of Drummond Framing, a company that has been designing and making frames for over two decades. The shop has created frames that hang in some of the world's top museums, galleries, and private art collections. Drummond also works directly with artists in order to create specialized frames that enhance the presentation of artwork as well as establish the context in which it is to be appreciated.

Aaron Zimmerman is the Chief Art Handler at PPOW in Chelsea. His expertise as an art handler at galleries and museums in New York has led him to play a pivotal role in coordinating the transport, care, and installation of artwork for exhibitions. Zimmerman is also a practicing artist.
