This event has ended.

Patience is admired in others as a means of enduring, persevering, and forbearing over long periods of time in the face of adversity or as a character trait that manifests itself everyday. It also describes the discipline required of a traditional studio practice to which the artist returns in the continuing development of his or her work. 'Infinite Patience' considers this once "heavenly virtue" as an artistic virtue linking the practices of three individuals - James Drake, Kunié Sugiura, and Stanley Whitney - who have each developed their own approaches and distinctive imagery since the 1970s. Such decades-long endurance strikes a chord deep within the viewer through the linking of past with present and the bridging of art and life through the ongoing poetics of solitude.
