For his second solo exhibition at the gallery, Anthony McCall will present his first light installation for over 30 years that incorporates the use of sound. The work consists of two, spatially parallel, projected forms which pass through the same formal mutations, one being the reverse of the other. The sonic environment produced in collaboration with David Grubbs, operates as a just-audible 'shroud' built from two opposing sound-spaces: the traffic of the city emitting from one side of the space, the liquid sounds of a city harbor from the other. Alongside this new work, the exhibition will feature working drawings for various major public projects including a drawing for the 2012 Olympic Games commission in Liverpool which was just awarded to McCall.
