This event has ended.

In the final exhibition at Repetti’s current LIC space, resident artist Anne Becker shows perceptual paintings and sculptures that explore the fundamental structure of several specific natural forms.
Often working from life, Becker compresses space while allowing pockets of heightened realism where animals, weather systems, and sometimes people are depicted in archetypal settings. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, including Japanese screen-printing, Renaissance painting, and early cave art, she populates the gallery with artifacts that suggest archaeological work as much as artwork.
This is the second solo show of the artist’s work at Repetti, she was also the first one-person show in the space, in March 2006. From 2001-2006 she studied and then taught at The New York Studio School, and now splits her time between London and New York.
