This event has ended.

With over 30,000 prints to choose from- many of which are iconic, and most of which are by masters of the medium- the gallery's staff of 11 has produced a captivating exhibition of the photographs that call to us the loudest, or whisper the softest. Each staff member, whose experiences vary widely but whose love of photography runs deep, had personal reasons for their choices. The resulting images captures our imagination, heighten our understanding of the medium, transport us to another time and place, and overwhelm us with their beauty. While some members of the staff choose one theme or aesthetic, others chose randomly, both approaches giving the viewer insight as to the similarities and differences in how all see and what moves us. The eclectic collection ranges from Shoshi Ueda's surrealist beach pictures, to some of Saul Leiter's most personal work. The exhibition also offers a historical perspective with W. Eugene Smith's photographs from WWII as well as Peter Sekear's and Walker Evan's contrasting images of the deep South.
