This event has ended.

Bicycle Film Festival announces Joy Ride a group exhibition in collaboration with Anonymous Gallery, curated by Brendt Barbur, Joseph Ian Henrikson, and Tanya Arakawa Rosenstein. This multi-location exhibition brings together a select group of internationally established and emerging artists, all who share a passion for the bicycle. Joy Ride is a visual manifestation of one of the most culturally relevant and urban, youth-based movements of this century: the urban bike movement.

The artwork will be exhibited at 4 locations in New York City’s Soho and Lower East Side. Each venue will feature uniquely curated multimedia installations. Hungry March Band kicks off opening night at 6 PM with a performance in “the pit” at Sara D. Roosevelt Park on Chrystie Street and Broome Street. Joy Ride maps will be available at each location.

Joy Ride originated in 2005 as part of Bicycle Film Festival Los Angeles and since traveled to Paris, Tokyo, Toronto, Milano, San Francisco, New York, and London. Joy Ride 2009 is the most ambitious to date and will travel to 5 other cities including Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, and Denver.
